In 1999, Two Rivers adopted United Four Wheel Drive Association's
Awareness Course as a required course for all board members and
trail guides and helpers. Since then, over 150 people have taken
the course.
This implementation is unique, as there are several versions of
the course offered: one for beginners, one for those with wheeling
experience, and an advanced course for trail guides and helpers.
Part of the course is the standard UFWDA course. However a portion
of the class is devoted to covering TRJC guidelines. These were
developed to help us become more safety concious and also to create
an awareness of issues facing wheeling on private land.
A copy of an article that was written for UFWDA's United's Voice
Winter 2000 issue about our training and the TRJC guidelines are
here.
