TRJC Trail Building (Members only)
|
|
Trail building and maintenance are as much a part of our
club as are the major events. Heavy undergrowth, floods,
slides, and vehicles all contribute to the degradation
of the trails. We spend, on an average, 8 to 12 weekends
per year just keeping the trails in shape and making
new ones so we don't destroy the land by over-use.
Each year, our trailmaster posts a list of work weekends
available on the
event schedule
. Please try to attend at least a couple of these weekends
per year. Besides that, we've been known to play just a
little - and some of us have more fun on the work weekends
than we do on the major events!

Periodically check the"Message of the Day" on the home
page, especially just before you plan on leaving for Pittsfield. At
the bottom of the page there is also a link to the Pittsfield weather
forecast. There is always the possibility that a work weekend may
be canceled due to weather and conditions of the trails. Due to rapidly
changing weather conditions, the decision to cancel may sometimes
not be made until Thursday evening or even Friday morning so always
check the
home page
for weather and updates.
We meet at the VFW in Pittsfield around 7:30 AM when the
VFW usually serves breakfast.
A map can be found
here
. If you need additional information, please e-mail us
or call the club phone.
